The FJ Company in Miami, Florida specializes in restoring classic Toyota Land Cruisers. Their President Juan Calle decided he wanted his own FJ project for family trips.
They started with a worn but decent 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ43. The team then completely stripped everything down for a body-off restoration.
The original factory motor was replaced with a 4.5 L Toyota 1FZ-FE inline-six running off a Haltech fuel injection system. The engine makes 210 horsepower and around 275 lb-ft of torque.
The four-wheel-drive system was updated with a five-speed manual transmission from a FJ80 and ARB Air Locker differentials in the front and rear.
Handling was also increased thanks to a ARB Old Man Emu 4×4 suspension kit, power steering rack, and front disc brakes.

This looks like a great project, well thought out and executed. It is almost enough to make me wish I was living in FL so I could get eyes on.
