BMW E28 Race Car with a S38 Inline-Six

BMW E28 race car with a S38 inline-six

This 1987 BMW 5 Series (E28) race car started life as a E28 520i LUX powered a 2.0 L M20B20 inline-six. It is now powered by a naturally aspirated S38 inline-six making approximately 360 hp (264 kW). It features an Accusump oil reservoir and custom stainless steel exhaust. Behind that is a BMW E34 M5 manual transmission and limited-slip differential. The car’s handling is upgraded thanks to GAZ adjustable coilovers and BMW 750iL brakes. Covering those are ET11 Wagner-Tuning wheels (16×9.5, 16×10.5). The body features carbon fiber hood and trunk lid, Group 5-style arches, and Jägermeister livery. Inside you find Corbeau seats with TRS 6-point harnesses and roll cage. In front is a custom flocked dash with DigiDash 2 digital display and Momo steering wheel. The car will be auctioned by Iconic Auctioneers in Stoneleigh, England.
