In 2024 TF-Works swapped a Honda L15 and Miata (ND2) six-speed manual transmission into their BMW E30. The company chose the turbocharged 1.5 L L15B7 inline-four because it offers direct injection, aluminum block with cast-in iron liners, lightweight steel rods, twin oil-squirters, direct injection, single-scroll turbocharger, and electric wastegate. TF-Works reports the Si-version of the L15B7 can produce 265 hp (194 kW) and 285 lb-ft (386 Nm) of torque on E85 fuel. They now sell a L15 swap kit which includes engine and transmission mounts, billet oil pan and pickup, custom coolant housing, and turbo inlet and outlet housings. TF-Works is developing more parts for the kit including a radiator with hoses, bolt-in intercooler, full exhaust, and plug-and-play wiring harness for L15 ECU.
