How well does a classic Jeep Grand Wagoneer handle with 810 hp and modern aftermarket underpinnings? Well Zack Klapman from The Smoking Tire found out after driving the unique 1988 Grand Wagoneer built by Vigilante 4×4. The SUV is powered by a supercharged 6.2 L Hellcat Redeye V8 making 810 hp (595 kW) and 707 lb-ft (958 Nm) of torque. That is paired to a Bowler 4L80 four-speed automatic transmission and Atlas II transfer case. Power is slit between a Dana 44 front axle and Dana 60 rear axle. Everything is supported by a Vigilante 4×4 boxed frame with 4-link front and rear suspension, Eibach springs, and Fox Racing shocks. A set of Baer six-piston brakes front and rear help control the SUV’s monster power. Listen to Zach describe the driving experience and the Redeye exhaust note in the video below.
