Ford Escort with a 2.6 L YB

Ford Escort with a 2.6 L YB inline-four

Malcolm Harding races a Ford Escort Mk1 in the Classic Touring Car Racing Club (CTCRC) series. The car is a Zakspeed replica inspired by Hans Heyer’s Deutsche Rennsportmeisterschaft (DRM) 1975 winning car. NM2255 reports Malcolm’s Escort is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.6 L YB inline-four producing 367 hp (273 kW). Smith & Jones built the motor with forged internals, ported head, individual throttle bodies, and dry sump. The motor is paired to a Quaife QBE60G six-speed sequential transmission. The Escort has improved handling thanks to Quantum Racing shocks and AP Racing brakes. The Zakspeed widebody is covered in a Castrol livery. Watch Malcolm race the Escort at Monza Circuit in Italy.
