Jon Rogers built his 1998 Nissan 240SX to drag race. The car was powered by a compound-turbocharged Toyota 2JZ inline-six. This year Jon swapped to a turbocharged Nissan VK56 V8 built by Import Drag Solutions. The motor features a factory block and sleeves, factory crankshaft, forged rods, Kelford camshafts, and Ross Performance dry sump. Boost is generated by a Precision Next GEN XPR 98 mm turbocharger. The turbocharged V8 made 1966 hp (1445 kW) and 1235 lb-ft (1674 Nm) of torque on methanol fuel and 45 psi (3.1 bar) of boost. Behind the motor is a Gforce GF5R five-speed H-pattern transmission recently converted to four-speed.
