Pro-Touring 1974 Pinto

Pro-Touring Ford Pinto

This is the first Ford Pinto project I have come across and it looks very interesting. The front suspension will use tubular a-arms, Wilwood pro-spindles, Cobra 13 inch brakes, upgraded steering rack, and new shocks. The differential and rear brakes will be from a 1997 Mustang Cobra. The seats are from a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon.

The engine is a turbocharged 2.3L from a 1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. The five speed from the Thunderbird will also be swapped in. The factory manifold will be replaced with a SS turbo header and the turbo is a Garrett T3/T4. I can’t wait to see the Pinto completed.

  1. Would love to hear what you’re thinking of doing, Eric. I’ve been obsessively thinking about a Pinto Wagon project for the last 6 months or so.
