Volkswagen Tiguan with a Turbo VR6

Adam Beard from Twin Engine Corsa interviewed Vaseem Malik about this unique Volkswagen Tiguan. The SUV is powered by a turbocharged 3.6 L VR6 making 721 hp (530 kW) and 1000 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque. The VR6 features a R36 block and crankshaft, FCP connecting rods, and Wossner pistons (+5 mm). On top sits a ported head with Ferrara valvetrain, Schrick camshafts, and Krabifab billet intake manifold. Boost is generated by a BorgWarner 9180 EFR turbocharger on a M-Tech exhaust manifold. Behind the motor is a Sachs twin-place organic clutch and MQ500 six-speed manual transmission from a 2011+ Tiguan diesel using a machined bellhousing and adapter plate. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a forth-generation Haldex rear differential.
