Ernie Miyamoto from MotoFab owns a unique 1972 VW Super Beetle. Ernie’s father started building the car in 1985 after a dare from a friend. They challenged him to build an extreme Beetle with a factory appearance. Up front is a 572 ci (9.3L) ZZ572 V8 crate motor making 620 hp (456 kW) and 645 lb-ft (874 Nm) of torque. The monster motor features an iron block, forged steel crank and rods, forged aluminum pistons, hydraulic roller camshaft, and 118 cc chamber aluminum heads. The big-block power and custom chassis is disguised by a clamshell body. Ernie pushed a button and the entire body tilts up revealing the front engine bay. On the back of the body is rotating wind-up key giving some indication the car is not what it seems.
