4N Motorsport built their 2015 BMW M4 (F82) race car with a turbocharged S55 inline-six capable of 11,000 rpm. 4N Motorsport destroked the motor from 3.0 liters to 2.4 liters. They also added a custom steel crank, Mahle pistons, CP Carillo H-beam rods, and single EFR8474 twin-scroll 1.05AR turbocharger. 4N Motorsport ported head with Supertech nitride-coated intake valves and Supertech Inconel sodium filled exhaust valves. After breaking-in the motor, the car was put on a dyno hub. The destroked S55 made 901 hp (662 kW) at 9,500 rpm and 587 lb-ft (795 Nm) of torque on 25 psi (1.7 bar) of boost.
