Dragos Stacescu from CompleteCHIP and his BMW 118d (E81) are now the fastest diesel BMW in the world. The team recently went 8.255 sec in the quarter-mile at the Drag Racing Moldova Finals at Balti International Airport in Moldova. Dragos 1-series is powered by a compound-turbocharged 3.0 L M57D30TU2 turbodiesel inline-six that M5Phenomenon reports is making 1030 hp (757 kW) and 1650 Nm (1216 lb-ft) of torque. The drivetrain uses an 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission from a X6 (F16) and 330d xDrive AWD drivetrain.
