Collins Garage is Swapping a 3UZ V8 into a Scion FRS

Scion FRS built by Collins Performance Adapters with a 3UZ-FE V8

Brett Collins from Collins Performance Adapters is building a Scion FRS on their Collins Garage channel. Unfortunately the factory 2.0 L FA20 flat-four lost oil pressure while driving down a hill at high rpm. Instead of rebuilding the motor, Brett seized the opportunity to swap a 3UZ-FE from a Lexus SC430 using parts from their 1UZ/3UZ swap kit. Brett chose the 3UZ V8 because they are dependable, $1K-$4K with ECU and harness, SC430 3UZ comes with a front sump oil pan, and the factory FRS hood will close. Brett retains the factory FRS six-speed transmission using the Collins adapter.
