BMW 1602 with a NetGain HyPer9 electric motor

This BMW 1602 originally came with a 1573 cc M10 inline-four. Electric Classic Cars (ECC) converted the classic car to electric using a NetGain HyPer9 AC motor. The 120 hp (88 kW) motor runs on a 40 kwh battery pack split 50/50 between front and back. ECC estimates the pack affords the car 140 mile range. Behind the motor is a five-speed manual transmission and BMW rear differential. ECC also upgraded the suspension and brakes. On the outside they modified the bumpers, modified the E21 Aplina chin spoiler, and painted everything in VW Oak Green. Under the VW Golf GTI arches are a set of BBS wheels.
