Quad-Turbo 7.0L V12 Testing at Monza

When hypercar manufacturer Giamaro Automobili needed a special motor for their hypercar “Krafla”; they turned to engine builder Italtecnica Engineering. The company designed and built a quad-turbo 7.0 L V12 capable of 1500+ hp (1103+ kW). The “Hot-Vee” motor features a 120-degree design with an irregular firing order. Crank pins have an alternating spacing of 50° and 70° instead of the typical 60° and 60° spacing. Italtecnica Engineering used forged aluminum pistons with Teflon-coated skirts, forged steel rods, and eight-stage dry sump system. Their custom heads feature bucket-style lifters and gear-driven valvetrain. A custom exhaust manifold feeds four Garrett G30-660 turbochargers. The result is a V12 capable of 1500 hp (1103 kW) and 1500 Nm (1106 Nm) of torque. NM2255 recorded a Krafla prototype with the amazing quad-turbo V12 testing at Monza circuit in the video below.
