This 1981 Toyota Starlet KP61 arrived at Empire Fabrication for a sunroof delete. The project quickly snowballed into a full custom build. The little blue car is now powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0 L 3S-GE BEAMS inline-four producing 170 hp (125 kW). The motor features custom intake manifold with AE111 individual throttle bodies, custom exhaust headers, and Ecumasters ECU. The drivetrain uses an Altezza six-speed manual transmission and AE86 GT-S rear end with custom 31-spline axles. Empire Fabrication upgraded the handling using Techno Toy Tuning (T3) full suspension kit with AE86 hubs and custom lower control arms. Braking is improved with Wilwood four-piston brakes on each corner. Over those are Tom’s Igetta 13×7.5-inch wheels wearing Toyo R888R 185/60 tires.
