This 1969 Mercedes 280SL is powered by a 5.7 L LSx V8 built by Thompson Motorsports. The motor features a Brian Tooley camshaft, ported heads, Bosch fuel injectors, and stainless steel exhaust headers. Behind the V8 is a Circle D converter and 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Mercedes W108 rear differential with a 3.27 ratio. The custom body features steel fender flares, molded rocker panels, and molded bumpers covered in Mercedes “Diamond Pearl” paint. The convertible rides on Budnik Fontana 17-inch wheels wearing Continental 215/45 and 245/45 tires. You can view more details and photos at Bring a Trailer.
