1988 Toyota Pickup with 2003 3.4L V6

1988 Toyota 4Runner with 2003 Tacoma 3.4L V6 engine swap

This 1988 Toyota 4Runner has had the original engine replaced with a 3.4L V6 from a 2003 Toyota Tacoma. If the engine is a 5VZ-FE (which I think it is), its output is 183 horsepower and 217 ft/lbs of torque. The transmission is a Toyota R151F turbo five-speed manual, a Dodge Dana 60 front end, and a GM 14-bolt rear end. The paint job is Krylon flat olive spray paint.

  1. Hello I have a semi show 87 4Runner with 22RE 4 cly motor in it and standard 4′ lift kit and 3′ body lift running 35′ Tires. I am looking for A company that can sponsor me and my truck with A 3.4 engine swap in it and have photos and write up on engine conversion and drivability. Magazine’s would be Peterson OFF-ROAD and 4WD Toyota Owners Magazine and possible show it at SEMA Show and Local car shows!!!! Thanks Frank Salvador
