Eric Olson has been racing his 1983 Ford Ranger for many years. Over that time he has slowly upgraded the truck while lowering his quarter-mile times. The Ranger currently runs a 427 ci Windsor V8 with Trick Flow heads, C+S blow through carb, Ford 9″ rearend, and rear leaf suspension. The engine is fed by two 72 mm turbos in the bed right behind the cab. The best time for the day was 8.70 at 163.85 mph.

  1. The Dakota at the end of the video has an unequally impressive engine swap. A wildly unmodified 5.9. I tell people I could of taken the ranger but I just wasn’t making boost that day… or any other day : ) That is a bad*** Ranger and was driven to the track.

  2. That is an amazingly built truck I really wonder why more people are not building up older rangers. I am currently building an 83 ranger and putting a 2jz in it
