Building an AWD 1967 Mustang on a Subaru WRX Chassis

1967 Mustang on a Subaru WRX chassis

When someone names their project Frankenstang you should expect the unusual. The project located in Quebec features a 1967 Mustang body sitting on a 2004 WRX chassis. The chassis was chosen so the Mustang can use the Subaru AWD drivetrain. As for the engine, the owner is leaning toward a Ford or Chevy small-block V8. 1. As a fan of both Mustangs and WRXs, there is no part of this project I don’t like. I’ll be following this one keenly.

  2. I’m wondering what the plan is for the front axle placement…it’s a bit far fwd stock on the mustang and if they’re adding 2 more cylinders of length going to a v8…rear mount radiator is a must but will that be enough?

  3. I dont get the point in this.. Cool idea to get a awd mustang. But when using the wrx chassis which comes with a flat four, you will end up with a V8 or other engine sitting so ridiculous high through the Hood..
