Here we have a 1986 Mercedes 560SEC with a 1999 LS1 and 4l60E automatic transmission. To get the engine to fit the car was converted to rack and pinion steering rack from a 1988 Mustang and the crossmember was removed for the GTO oil pan. The transmission tunnel had to widened as well. To get the headers to fit on the steering side they had to wrap around the steering shaft. The GT500 supercharger was mated to the engine using a prototype Magna Charger manifold that is no longer sold. The Mercedes subframe was modified to accept a Ford 8.8 IRS rear from a Mark VIII and the builder used the factory Lincoln mount to hold it. The axles were modified to accept the Ford inner splines and the Mercedes outer splines.

Great project!
Looks awesome im wanting to to an ls1 swap on my w126 380se any pointers I should know
Most of the projects I have come across have swapped a Mustang II or similar sub-frame or made one custom because there are no kits available. I know that helps very little but I don’t have much experience with this combo. I have included some forum threads and sections that might be helpful.
