Mid-Engine Ford GT Powered 500

Ford 500 with Ford GT engine swap

Ann Arbor’s Washtenaw Community College has a pretty cool automotive program called Custom Cars & Concepts. It was in this program that a group of students took a Ford GT drivetrain and suspension and swapped it into a Ford 500. The Ford 500 was made only for two years and was to fill in the Taurus gap and came front wheel or all wheel drive with a 3.0L V6 producing around 208 horsepower. The supercharged 5.3L ford GT heart puts out around 550 horsepower. You can tell from the pictures that the students did their homework on this car.

  1. The work on this ford 500 cannot go unpublished. Enthusiests need to know details on how to get the suspension for the ford 500 with or without engine swap etc. Please place the work on ford forums, who to go to call for parts everything.
