Volkswagen Golf MK1 Powered by Audi A3 Diesel

Check out this very clean Volkswagen Golf MK1 built by Greg Howell. Stuffed under the hood is a 1.9L PD130 TDI diesel from an Audi A3. The ECU has been upgraded along with the turbocharger to produce 200 horsepower and 300 lbs-ft of torque. For more info and pictures please follow the source link below.

  1. hello I live in spain and have a golf mk1 that needs a new engine. I have liked very much your idea and wold like to know how difficult has it been to make this swap?. Any particular advice?. Same gearbox as the a3?. Thanks for your feedback in advance, please send more pictures. Regards.

    1. I apologize because I do not know for sure. The difficulty depends on your level of experience and is hard for me to say one way or the other. I tried to look for more details on this build but it seems Speedhunters was the only source. Maybe contacting the owner Bill Howell through his website http://greghowell.co.uk/ will help.
