Twin-turbo Hartley H1 V8. So much want.

Hartley engines made jaws drop when they debuted the H1, a V8 engine using two Suzuki Hayabusa heads mated to a custom block. They also developed two different inline-four designs and three V8 designs. Article updated 11/17/2017.

H1 V8
Design sold in 2012 to racing team.

  • 4 cams, 32 valves via internal silent chain
  • 400HP @ 10,000 rpm with stock street cams (higher spec. is available)

  • 4340 H-beam con-rods with ARP bolts

  1. it ws a long time ago, but V8’s in a plane…not until it was certified
    these engines were develioped near Hartford Wi by John Hartley of Hatel Enterprise…I worked for him at one time in an engineering firm.

    He’s working a 4 cylinder and a new high liter “maxi” V8….prices are pretty historic, wish I could afford one. I’ll stick with my LS7 engined Z06…
