1975 Cosworth Vega with a LS1 V8

1975 Cosworth Vega With A LS1

Chevrolet upgraded 3,508 Vegas between 1975 and 1976 with a 2.0 L Cosworth DOHC inline-four. It was an improvement over the base engine but only produced 110 horsepower and 107 lb-ft of torque. This 1975 Vega however runs a LS1 V8 which is at least 3x more powerful. The engine is upgraded with a Comp Thumpr camshaft, LS6 valve springs, and Comp Magnums pushrods. The oil pan was switched to a Holley pan developed for ground clearance and swaps. Other changes include a water pump from a LS7, flywheel from a LQ9 truck, and a clutch from a big-block Chevelle.

  1. The Vega had a 2.3 liter engine. The Cosworth Vega destroyed the 2.3 to 2 liters and replaced the head with the 4 valve per cylinder DOHC.
