Porsche 911 with a Turbo VR6

  • 911

The owner always had dreams of running a VR6 in a Beetle but changed his mind when he found an adapter plate developed for running VR6 engines with Porsche transmissions in dune buggies. The body is sort of a hybrid made from a wrecked 993 that would serve as the basis of the build and parts taken from a 1991 964 Cabriolet with a fiberglass top. The engine is a turbocharged 12-valve VR6 connected to a G50 five-speed transmission. The builder does a great job of documenting the build progress (20 pages at time of writing).
