1987 Porsche 911 with a Mitsubishi 4G63

1987 Porsche 911 With A Mitsubishi 4G63

This project started with a 1987 Porsche 911 convertible that was missing the engine, transmission and rear fenders. After the current owner purchased the roller for $600 he went about installing a Mitsubishi 4G63 inline-four from a 2003 Lancer Evo VIII. A bracket was made that allowed the original Porsche motor mounts and 4G63 mount work without cutting any of the frame. The engine is controlled by the factory harness and AEM ECU. On the dyno the engine produced 342 horsepower to the wheels. After the engine swap the owner had some rear fenders from the Turbo model installed. The transmission is a Porsche G50 five-speed transaxle from a 1991 Porsche 911.
