This project started in 2013 when the 3.8 L Lambda V6 in this 2007 Kia Sorento destroyed itself. The owner Craig Gibson took the bad situation as an opportunity to get much more power and something very unique. After looking through several engine choices the owner decided on the high power-to-price iron block 6.0 L LY6 sourced from a 2009 Silverado. The engine was upgraded with a LS3 intake with 90 mm throttle body and LS2 GTO headers. The transmission is a 6L90E six-speed automatic and connected to a Jeep NP231 transfer case through an adapter by Advanced Adapters.
