SCCA-Spec 1971 240Z

SCCA spec 1971 Datsun 240Z

This project started over 5 years ago to make a SCCA-spec car that would also be street legal. It started with a completely stripped 1971 240Z to which they added a IROC Z28 V8. The firewall and most of the transmission tunnel was removed to get the engine to sit as far back as possible. They installed a motor plate to strengthen the overall front end. The SCCA widebody kit added over two inches on each side which helps cover the custom CCW wheels with Kuhmo V700 305/30/18 in front and 335/30/18 in back. The exhaust is 2.5-inch stainless steel tubing with Magnaflow mufflers. Lexan will replace all the glass except the windshield reducing the car’s weight to about 2,200 lb.

  1. Hi Jay,

The car looks fantastic with the wide body kit.
I have a Datsun 260Z (2+2) which I’m restoring and like to have such looks as your car. Can you please tel me where you did buy your wide body kit. I’ll appriciate it if you could provide a pricelist of the required parts also.

    Regards,
