This 1966 Chevelle was built by by So-Cal Speed Shop for John Devine. John went against getting a 1st Gen. Camaro because he felt it was too cliche and getting anything else besides a GM ride would get too much razzing from former employees at the local Sonic. So he decided to go with the not as popular early generation Chevelle. The modified setup used a 7.0 L LS7 V8, custom stainless steel headers, T-56 six-speed manual transmission, Global West suspension, and a set of custom Budnik Muroc IIIs 18×8-inch wheels finished in two-tone brushed nickel.
