Marcin Blauth is the lucky driver and owner of this AWD first generation Camaro. The car was built by VTG in Warsaw, Poland to compete in drag racing. The engine is a 6.6 L SBC V8 with JE pistons, Comp cam, Eagle rods and crank, and AFR heads. With two Holset turbochargers the engine is producing around 1,500 horsepower and 1,650 Nm (1,216 lb-ft) of torque which is enough to move the 1,337 kg (2,947 lb) car very fast. The drivetrain consists of an Typhoon AWD system and three-speed TH400 automatic transmission. Over the summer the car set a 5.462 sec 1/8 mile at 210.52 kph (130.81 mph) and a 8.447 sec 1/4 mile at 260.05 kph (161.58 mph).

Badass car. Wait, arent they the same team who build AWD C3 Corvette with turbo LT1?
You are correct. They built the AWD Corvette and I think before that raced an upgraded Cyclone. While researching for that article I came across a forum post saying AWD drag racing is more popular because of the surfaces they race on are not prepped drag surfaces. I have no idea if that is true but it makes sense.

In Europe are a few (real one) drag strips:
UK – Santa Pod
Sweden – Tierp Arena
Finland – Alastaro
Germany – Hockenheim
I’m no sure about Russia.
Most of events are placed on old military airports with concrete, sometimes asphalt surface.
That’s why AWD is so popular.
And fastest cars from Poland:

Thanks Peeter for clarifying. A lot of great projects on that list. I have some homework to do.
Do you have the contact info for the company that makes the AWD system? I have a 1968 Camaro RS that I want to make AWD..I am in Michigan. I not running 2000hp (I have a LSX with 750hp) but still want to do this.
Hi August. We do not have the contact information of the owner. However VTG is a company in Poland that helps with the car. They might be able to help.
