From the guys who brought you a 1996 Jeep Cherokee with a 1UZ-FE come this 1995 Jeep Wrangler with a 1UZ-FE. The guys at American Locomotive took a YJ Wrangler and stuffed a 4.0 L 1UZ-FE V8 from a 1996 Lexus LS400 with 200,000 miles. The engine is connected to a GM Muncie SM420 four-speed manual transmission with a custom machined Toyota 4Runner V6 flywheel and pressure plate. The rest of the drivetrain consists of a Jeep NV273 transfer case, Dana 30 in front and Explorer 8.8″ rear end.

Hey, so i have an old 1uz taken from a sc400. Im considering a v8 swap in my 2004 LJ. Many guys on forums and whatnot recommend a small, high-torque v8. What kind of gas mileage do yall get in the 1uzfe YJ rig? I daily my LJ with the stock 4.0 inline 6 and already fill up once a week and wouldnt want to get any worse.
