Redline Motorsports received one of the first three LSX454 V8 motors from GM Performance Parts. The motor 640 hp (470 kW) and 576 lb-ft (780 Nm) of torque on 11:1 compression and 92 octane fuel. It features a cast iron block with 6-bolt main caps, 4.185-inch bore, and 4.125-inch stroke. It also uses forged steel crankshaft and rods, forged aluminum pistons, rectangular port heads with 70 cc chambers, 2.2-inch intake valves, 1.61-inch exhaust valves, and 1.8:1 rocker arm ratio. The hydraulic roller camshaft features 236-degree intake and 240-degree exhaust duration and 0.635-inch intake and 0.635 exhaust valve lift. Reline Motorsports swapped the LSX454 into a black 2010 Camaro SS. The company used a modified ZR1 clutch and custom flywheel. They also upgraded the rear end with strong axles, cradle, and diff case. On the dyno the combo produced 515 hp (378 kW) and 513 lb-ft (695 Nm) of torque to the wheels.

Nice to see the Camaro & others, like the GTO can still get those coveted BB power & cubes…..
Perhaps there could be another run of 454-SS pickups?
