AS Performance built a very fast BMW 1 Series (E81). The hatchback is powered by a 3.0 L N57 turbodiesel inline-six from a BMW 330d (E90) with a compound-turbo system. The motor was previously making 900 hp (671 kW) and 1300 Nm (958 lb-ft). However it is now making 1100 hp (820 kW) and 1700 Nm (1258 lb-ft) of torque on 6.55 bar (94.9 psi). The monster diesel motor is paired to a ZF 6HP six-speed automatic transmission and X-Drive AWD drivetrain. With the extra power AS Performance set a personal best quarter-mile in 8.737 sec at Malta’s Hal-Far Raceway.
