Hummelink-Modifications is a company in the Netherlands specializing in Mazda MX-5 engine and chassis parts. A customer approached Hummelink-Modifications to perform an engine swap on their Mazda MX-5 NB. The company replaced the 1.8 L BP inline-four with a 3.0 L Jaguar AJ30 V6 using a Rocketeer swap kit. The kit includes steel front subframe, engine mounts, stainless steel exhaust manifolds, full exhaust, and adapter plate to use the factory MX-5 transmission. Hummelink-Modifications added more parts including a SPS Motorsport oil cooler, IL Motorsport aluminum radiator, electric water pump, and NBFL Sportive front and rear brakes. Wiefferink Motorsport tuned the 3.0 L V6 into making 272 hp (200 kW) and 306 Nm (225 lb-ft) of torque.

Weight changes?
This Hagerty video claims the V6 is slightly lighter than the factory engine. Thus keeping the weight balance.
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I watched that video. They say it is lighter/about the same, but no numbers. Are you US based? I live in California, so the Lincoln LS V6 (2000-2005 model years) is the ticket. The question is how hard is it to get California Air Resources Board (CARB) to accept the transplant. As long as a newer engine goes into an older vehicle with all of its smog equipment and tests at the newer engine specs, I believe all goes well. Unfortunately, some items are difficult to transplant and demand the judgement of the CARB referee.
In general Swaptastic is interesting, but would benefit from having the curb weight. Thank you.
That’s an interesting idea, I like that kind of thing.
