International Metro with a 5.7 L Vortec V8

International Metro with a 5.7 L Vortec V8

This 1957 International Harvester Metro Van was built by Fame Hot Rods in Plymouth, Minnesota. The Van was originally found in a field where it sat for over 25 years. The owner wanted something unique to haul the family around in. Since the factory six-cylinder and transmission was completely seized they decided to replace everything underneath the body. The chassis was replaced with one from a 1997 GMC 1/2 ton truck. Over that went a completely custom floorboard. Powering the van is a 5.7 L Vortec 5700 L31 V8 connected to a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission. The van rides on a RideTech air suspension with a IFS and four-link rear.
