Ringbrothers specialize in building custom hot rods at their company in Wisconsin. In 2015 they applied their talents building “SPLITR“; a race-inspired 1965 Mustang with modern power and handling.

Under the Ringbrothers’ carbon fiber hood sits a 427 ci Windsor V8 from Ford Racing flanked by custom exhaust headers. Behind the V8 is a Bowler T56 six-speed manual transmission and Detroit Speed Engineering 9-inch rear end.

Ringbrothers chose to upgrade the Mustang’s handling with a full suspension from Detroit Speed Engineering. The front used their Aluma-Frame front subframe with tubular control arms and power steering rack. The rear used their QUADRAlink 4-link suspension. The brakes feature Baer 6S Extreme six-piston calipers with 14-inch rotors in the front and rear.

On the outside Ringbrothers trimmed the bottom of the front fenders. They also extended the rocker panels forward and down. Under all that is a custom flat floor pan. Everything is covered in BASF Glasurit 90 Line paint in the color of “Ford Racing Red” (Ford PQ). The finishing touch is a set of HRE C1 Series C103 wheels (18×9, 19×11) with Nitto INVO ZR tires (265/35, 325/30).

The race-inspired interior starts with black leather-covered Recaro seats. Under the windshield is a custom dash with many custom billet controls and Classic Instrument gauges. A leather-wrapped steering wheel is mounted on an Ididit tilt column.
