William Jones is an employee to Late Model Restorations. He owns a 1999 Mustang Cobra (New Edge) with 338,000 miles. William swapped the factory 4.6 L 4v V8 to a third-generation 5.0 L Coyote V8 crate motor. The Coyote received a Cobra Jet intake manifold, 47 lb injectors, GT350 timing chains, BBK longtube headers, and Moroso swap oil pan. The combo produced 478 hp (356 kW) and 414 lb-ft (561 Nm) of torque to the wheels on E90 fuel. Behind the motor is a RAM Powergrip 11-inch clutch and BorgWarner T-45 five-speed manual transmission. Unfortunately the T45 gave out after two weeks. William then swapped to a T56 six-speed manual transmission from a 2003 Mustang Cobra and aluminum driveshaft. Watch the video below to understand the work it takes to swap a Coyote V8 into a 1999 Mustang.
