Winczewski Motorsport built their BMW E46 to compete in time attack. The car is powered by a turbocharged 2.9 L BMW M50 inline-six featuring forged internals, Catcams 268/257 camshafts, Pulsar turbocharger, and Ecumaster EMU Black ECU. Behind the motor is an 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission controlled by a Turbo Lamik TCU. Winczewski Motorsport sent the car to KMS Engine for tuning. On 98 octane fuel, the M50 produced 535 hp (393 kW) and 619 Nm (456 lb-ft) of torque on 1 bar (14.5 psi) of boost. On E45 fuel, the motor produced 613 hp (450 kW) and 734 Nm (541 lb-ft) of torque on 1.1-1.3 bar (15.9-18.8 psi) of boost.
