This 2023 Toyota GR86 was purchased for use at the track. Unfortunately the harmonic balancer broke off the factory FA24 flat-four motor and caused damage to the crankshaft and bearings. The owner sent the car to MA-Motorsports for an engine swap. In the engine bay they installed a 2.4 L Honda K24A2 inline-four using a KPower Industries swap kit. The motor features factory internals, Skunk2 camshafts, and KPower’s oil pan, intake manifold, and exhaust header. It produces 240 hp (176 kW) to the wheels on a Link G4X XtremeX ECU. The KPower adapter plate allows the engine to mount to the factory GR86 six-speed manual transmission. A KPower driveshaft sends power to the GR86 rear end. The car’s suspension uses aftermarket coilovers, and AP Racing calipers in front and Brembo calipers in back. The stripped interior features an OMP seat, Momo steering wheel, Link/AIM digital display, and custom aluminum dashboard. Listen to Brian Wilkerson from MA-Motorsports explain the custom work that went into the car.
