Ryan Tuerck and his “GT411” Celica attended the New England Hillclimb Association’s Mt. Ascutney hillclimb at Mount Ascutney State Park in Windsor, Vermont. This event marks the first time Ryan has competed in a hillclimb or on asphalt in the car. The 1994 Celica GT is no longer powered by a 2.2 L 5S-FE inline-four and FWD drivetrain. Instead Ryan and his team swapped in a turbocharged 1.6 L G16E inline-three capable of 500 hp (367 kW) on low boost and 650 hp (478 kW) on high boost. The AWD drivetrain uses a Holinger sequential transmission and Wavetrac differentials. After several runs Ryan broke a 23-year-old record on the last attempt.
