Jake Wile and his company Wile Motorsport specialize in BWM and Porsche performance. Nine years ago Jake built a 1997 BMW E36 called “Honey Badger” to compete in BMW CCA Club Racing. In the coupe Jake swapped a S54 inline-six, transmission, wiring harness, brakes, and anything else worth using from a E46 M3. Fast forward to 2025 when Jake decided to rebuild the car for COM Sports Car Club (COMSCC) racing. While searched for a new engine he found 2017 BMW 340i that suffered a roll-over and non-repairable title. Jake pulled the turbocharged 3.0 L B58 inline-six and six-speed manual transmission. The B58 received an B58TU oil pump, RK Autowerks intake manifold, baffled oil pan, and Spec six-puck clutch. Jake pushed the motor back in the engine bay 11 inches with custom mounts and firewall. The result was 2523 lb with a 54/45 bias.
