The Subaru BRZ with a Front Mid-Engine Supercharged K24

Seth Monteleone from Mountain Lion Racing completed many upgrades on his Subaru BRZ since our last article. The car is still powered by a supercharged Honda K24 inline-four. However Seth moved the motor 13 inches back by cutting in the firewall, fabricating custom mounts, and modifying the subframe. The K24 is built with a Golden Eagle sleeved block with fire rings, forged rods and pistons, and a Rotrex C38-112 supercharger. The motor now runs on a Haltech R3 ECU using a Mountain Lion Racing custom wiring harness. Seth swapped to a BMW F-series (F80/F82/F87) Getrag DCT seven-speed automatic transmission using a Clutchmasters adapter. The rear still uses a OS Giken limited-slip differential. Seth also replaced the factory McPherson front suspension with a double-wishbone suspension from a Mazda RX-8. It uses a custom steering rack, custom swaybar, and custom shock towers holding Fortune Auto Pro two-way adjustable coilovers. Of course the most obvious modification was the outside. The BRZ body is wearing a new aero package from L.A.G MSC featuring their front and rear wings.
