Taylor Ray’s Miata with a LSx V8 Swap Cost

Taylor Ray Miata with a 5.3 L LSx V8

Taylor Ray spent the past year swapping a LSx V8 into his Mazda Miata and documenting the process on his YouTube channel. He recently made a very detailed video breaking down the costs of the engine swap. The total came to $13,099 but he estimates could be reduced to $10,517 with better part choices. Listen as he explains what it takes to build a drift spec Miata with a LSx V8.

  1. Taylor, hope this note finds you well. Martin from Monster Miata gave me your name. I am interested in purchasing a street LS Miata or building one.
    1. I am in Ft Lauderdale
    2. There is an NA in my neighborhood I can purchase for $800, not running, but no rust, no hits. It does looks rough.
    3. How can you help me? DO you build cars, only provide guidance, just trying to understand what to expect.
