V12 From Two LSx Engines Update

We covered a very talented and creative engine builder taking two LSx engines and welding them together into one 8.9 L V12 back in 2013. For a while it seemed the project might have died given the lack of updates but we are very excited to say the builder is back with his progress.

The builder has stated the block is almost completed. It will use SRP pistsons with a 8.5:1 compression, stock rods, a hydraulic cam with 260° of duration and .603 lift, Comp pushrods, LS6 valve springs, and Melling oil pump. They are working along side Brian Macy at Horsepower Connection to work on a solution for spark and fuel system.

They are also working on the manifold for the 14-71 Littlefield blower that will sit on top. Once everything is figured out and tested the builder estimates 1,200 horsepower should be an easy obtainable figure. I sure hope they are still planning on putting it in a Datsun 240Z.

If making a V12 wasn’t satisfying enough they also can make a V4 out of the pieces left over. They plan on taking one of these V4 engines and turbocharging it.

  1. Scat used to make a V4 based on the old SBC. They also had a flat four VW style motor that was SBC dimensions in pistons and rods stroke etc. and both were popular in off road Buggies and oval track Midgets.
The aircooled flat 4 was the hot ticket for short track midgets for a good while … very low center of gravity

  2. I really really need this engine. whats the update on it? Is it available yet? Anyone know any hint of a price range? Can someone contact the maker for me?
