Ford debuted their new 7.3 L (445 ci) V8 for the 2020 F-Series Super Duty trucks. The engine features iron block with a new cam-in-block, overhead valve architecture, forged steel crank, four-bolt mains, variable valve timing, port injection, and variable-displacement oil pump. No word on engine’s horsepower or torque output. Update 1-10-19: Output is 430 hp (321 kW) and 475 lb-ft (644 Nm) of torque at the crank.

Line 3 should say “variable valve timing” not “vale”. I can’t believe Ford would issue a press release and not give hp and tq rating. How stupid! My friends with trucks that is all they talk about. Supposedly Ram(NAIAS) stated they will be releasing a a 5.9 I6 HO diesel with 1000 lb ft of tq!!
Thanks for the correction. Article is updated.
I can’t wait to see this swapped into an older car, like a 1960 Ford Sunliner or a 1932 Ford 3-window coupé. It’s only a matter of time before the hot rodders get their greasy mitts on it.
I’d like to drop it the ten speed and a couple of turbos in my 98 F250 4×4.
And yes, I love my truck and it’s 200,000 miles I’ve put on it. Still looks like it did the day I bought it. Besides some extras that I’ve added.
I would like to see the engine dimensions in inches from left to right with manifolds installed, height from oil pan to intake and from flexplate to water pump hub. Weight would be nice to see as well.
