Update: I added a video from inside a 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost on Ford’s Dearborn Development Center. Sounds pretty good.
Numbers were just released on the 2.3L EcoBoost in the 2015 Mustang and it packs more punch than the V6 version in both horsepower and torque. The turbo I4 produces 310 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque while the V6 produces 300 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. That’s 3.3% more hp and 14.2% more torque than the V6. This is the first year Ford is using the 2.3L Ecoboost in production so we will have to wait before they become plentiful but we will soon have another popular platform to source a powerful turbo I4 from.
